Autumn Chic: Turtlenecks, Burgundy and Leather

19:02:00

Hey Guys, it's Yemmi~

It's still Autumn! Judging by the weather recently this won't be the case for long, winter is almost here...and like usual, I am not prepared to say goodbye to my skirts and t-shirts. I mentioned in my previous lookbook how crucial layering is for autumn and the same definitely goes for the winter time.
After yet another impromptu trip to London to accompany my friend Abbie to an interview, we ate lunch in this really cool and delicious cafe/restaurant (expect a blog post on it!!) in Shorditch. Both of us being bloggers, of course we take every opportunity that we are in London and planned a quick outfit shoot each. Check out Abbie's here^.
As winter draw in, it is becoming more necessary to say warm and I have officially brought out all of my turtlenecks. They are my go to transition item before I add my chunky knits into the mix for the dead of winter later on. I tend to wear bulky or baggy types clothes so when wearing a more fitted layer like a turtleneck top, I have to add something that is less so. A flared skirt adds a nice shape and contrast  to your silhouette and can both give the illusion of curves or highlight your already curvy figure. A pop of colour in the colder days is needed to brighten up grey London; Both reddish tones and leather make a comeback in autumn/winter collection and I must admit burgundy one of my favorite colours to wear when it gets cold. Leather jackets, skirts and boots are all warm and perfect for mild winter whilst also being the perfect material if you are planning to use layers in your outfit.
I styled this cosy ribbed turtleneck from Urban Outfitters with my burgundy pu skirt that I bought a couple of years ago from Stylenanda. Until recently I couldn't actually fit into it very well and ripped it -_- but thank goodness for sewing machines! I fixed it but this was the first time I've worn it in over a year. Unseen in the photos, I actully have a burgundy longsleeve top on for added warmth as do feel the cold easily, and just poking out from underneath my trusty Docs are some cute green socks to add a bit of a colour contrast to the red (early festive intentions may've been present) and an extra layer on my legs other than my tights.

-Special thanks to the squirrel for making a cameo and distracting Abbie x
